Drink Kahda Tea to Heal Your Spring Congestion

Kadha Tea is an Ayurvedic home remedy recommended for coughs, colds, congestion, and sore throats. It clears mucus quickly and increases your immunity to protect you against seasonal infections, keeping new illnesses at bay.

I call this Spring Clearing Tea because it helps you reduce the excess earth and water qualities that accumulate in the late winter, causing congestion. This simple recipe is made with black pepper, clove, cinnamon, and ginger. These spices strengthen your digestive fire strong so you can burn off toxins that have built up. This tea promotes the discharge of mucus from the body, helping to relieve congestion in the respiratory tract.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water

  • 1/2 tsp ground black peppercorn

  • 1/2 tsp ground clove

  • 1 stick cinnamon

  • 1/2 inch piece peeled ginger

Servings: 3-4

Total Time: 15 minutes

Preparation

  1. Place all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Strain the spice and sip one cup in the morning. If it bothers your stomach, drink after your first meal of the day.

  3. Store the remaining tea in a thermos and do not re-heat.

  4. Sip 2-3 cups of warm tea throughout the day.
